How to Use the Map Block on UniLink
The Map block is a UniLink block that allows you to embed an interactive map on your page so visitors can instantly see your location and get directions.
What is the Map Block?
The Map block makes it effortless for visitors to find your physical location directly from your UniLink page. Instead of asking people to search for your address separately, you can display a live, interactive map embedded right in the page. It is essential for brick-and-mortar businesses such as restaurants, salons, studios, retail shops, and clinics, as well as event organizers who want attendees to navigate to a venue without friction.
How to Add the Map Block to Your Page
- Log in to your UniLink Dashboard at unilink.us
- Select the page you want to edit
- Click the Add Block button (+)
- Search for or scroll to find Map
- Click to add it to your page
How to Configure the Map Block
Setting up the Map block is quick and requires just a few key details:
- Address or Location — Enter your full business address or drop a pin at your exact location. The map will center on this point automatically.
- Zoom Level — Adjust the default zoom level of the map to show as much or as little surrounding area as is useful for your visitors.
- Map Height — Set the height of the embedded map to fit your page layout. A taller map shows more detail; a shorter map saves space.
- Section Heading — Optionally add a label above the map such as "Find Us," "Our Location," or the name of your venue.
- Address Text Display — Show the formatted address as text below or above the map so visitors can copy it or reference it easily.
- Directions Link — Include a button or link that opens the address directly in Google Maps or Apple Maps for one-tap navigation.
Best Practices for the Map Block
- Always pair the Map block with a Contact block nearby so visitors have both your address and your contact details in one place.
- Include the Directions button so mobile users can open navigation apps with a single tap rather than having to copy and paste the address.
- Use the heading above the map to include your business name and any useful location context, such as "Find us near Central Park" for venues in dense areas.
- If you operate from multiple locations, add a separate Map block for each, with a clear label distinguishing each one.
- Verify that the pin is dropped in exactly the right spot. An incorrectly placed pin can send customers to the wrong address, which creates a frustrating experience.
