How to Use the Spacer Block on UniLink
The Spacer block is a UniLink block that adds a blank vertical gap between other blocks on your page, giving your layout breathing room and improving overall readability.
What is the Spacer Block?
Good design is not just about what you add to a page, it is also about the empty space between elements. The Spacer block is a simple but powerful layout tool that inserts a configurable gap between any two blocks on your UniLink page. This helps prevent your content from feeling crowded, draws the eye naturally from one section to the next, and gives your page a cleaner, more professional appearance. It is particularly useful when grouping related blocks together and creating visual separation between distinct sections.
How to Add the Spacer Block
- Log in to your UniLink Dashboard
- Open your page editor
- Click Add Block (+)
- Select Spacer
Configuration Options
- Height - Set the vertical size of the gap in pixels or preset sizes such as small, medium, or large.
- Background Color - Optionally apply a background color to the spacer to create a visual divider or color band between sections.
- Visibility on Mobile - Choose whether the spacer is shown or hidden on mobile screens where vertical space is more limited.
- Divider Line - Optionally add a thin horizontal line within the spacer to act as a visual section separator.
Best Practices
- Use consistent spacer heights throughout your page rather than mixing very large and very small gaps, which can feel uneven.
- Add a spacer between major content sections, for example between your Welcome block and your first set of links, or between a Promo block and your social media links.
- Keep spacers minimal on mobile, where visitors may need to scroll more to reach content further down the page.
- Use a colored spacer as a subtle section divider to organize your page into distinct visual groups without heavy borders or lines.
